“For when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you’re my true followers.”
You only feel pain, jealousy, hurt or hate if you are not dead. Our responsibility in life is to die to ourselves.
Just as Jesus took up the responsibility of going to the cross and chose to die obeying God’s will for Him to be the sacrifice for our salvation.
We too are the sacrifice in this world to bring others to know God.
It is In God’s power and authority and response to do the resurrection.
Jesus chose to serve those who hurt Him as it is with us and in it Love overcomes all evil.
It is not a toil and effort it is in just remaining connected. Feeding on and taking in the nourishment requirements and the fruits will be a natural outcome, outcrop, a result of nothing we can in and of ourselves manufacture.
“I am the sprouting vine and you’re my branches. As you live in union with me as your source, fruitfulness will stream from within you—but when you live separated from me you are powerless.”
When we cease to strive and control, when we yield, we discern correctly that all we have and are comes from the Lord.
All ambitions and goals are fruitless if they are ours. All that we have and acquire are a blessing from Him and not a result of our own merit.
Our “yes” enables Him to “add unto” and what is added we can be filled with and give away, rather than grasp tightly, and the blessings multiply.
The wilderness where we have nothing trains us for the promised land where we have all and can steward it well.
Where we observe Jesus exalting and favouring others we need bear no grudge or jealousy but join in with what God is doing and equally invest in others because we are not without. Rewards never overtake provision.
We seek God first and all will be given in abundance.
Where we experience conflict and fail in understanding it is an invite to be drawn in closer until we see and know.
“Those who cling to their lives will give up true life. But those who let go of their lives for my sake and surrender it all to me will discover true life!”
Some of the scriptures seem difficult to us especially bearing the cross or “Whoever loves father or mother or son or daughter more than me is not fit to be my disciple.” In fact if God is held closest above and sought after first it actually qualifies us to love others better.
We have to adjust and turn around until what He says sits well with us. What He says is Truth and is never there to be ignored, watered down or tampered with.
The illustration shows us rooted, rested and focused on Christ we bear His fruits in abundance. His light emanates through us and pushes back the darkness.
Three Scriptures that come to mind:
“For when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you’re my true followers.””John 13:35 TPT
“I am the sprouting vine and you’re my branches. As you live in union with me as your source, fruitfulness will stream from within you—but when you live separated from me you are powerless.”John 15:5 TPT
“Whoever loves father or mother or son or daughter more than me is not fit to be my disciple. And whoever comes to me must follow in my steps and be willing to share my cross and experience it as his own, or he is not worthy of me. Those who cling to their lives will give up true life. But those who let go of their lives for my sake and surrender it all to me will discover true life!”Matthew 10:37-39 TPT
