“Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,”
Being in Love with Jesus is easy to share just by example of our whole being.
Trying to do witnessing of our faith in the world is hard because we come up against the barriers of resistance in others.
We will suffer if we feel out of our comfort zone in standing up and speaking out but it might be that we are the only other in that persons life who will and who is equipped to .
We are part of the Way because we have the Living witness living within us.
The Holy Spirit, the Hope and Glory, Christ inside us does not want to remain silent.
He wants to tell the world, every individual, every neighbour, every member of your family because He wants them to share in eternity with you, with Him.
It breaks His heart not to be known, not to be heard of, not to be understood, not to be believed in.
He is our witness in love, our friend, our hope our life.
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.”
The Jesus who God anointed lives within us and as He did we should likewise and therefore we too, as we serve, will come to know the suffering that He suffered through rejection.
We will know persecution alongside our peace and joy and will be more thankful in it than in the place of comfort and not serving.
Our reward is in pleasing the one who enlists us.
“No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.”
“Christ in you the hope and glory.”
The apostle Paul was very comfortable with this concept of suffering for Christ at any cost. He denied himself the comfortable option.
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
We will only suffer for something or someone we love.
Love is not complicated.
We keep filling ourselves with what matters. We thirst after it. Jesus is who quenches our thirst.
Jesus was willing to suffer and die for us, His love was so great as the Father and our creator.
Jesus learnt perfect obedience to the Father through that love. We learn perfect obedience to Him through Love.
The illustration shows God reaching down to each of us persecuted for our love and for suffering for being the Way as Christ is the Way for those who believe and have faith. Bearing His suffering and being raised up and bringing light into the darkness.
