The crisis must not be wasted.
God is bringing New Wine
Bringing power in the form of miracles.
Bringing yearning and hunger for Jesus
We are the Skins, vessels that new wine is to be poured into we must be prepared.
Biblically and still in some places goats skins were used for the vessels. Freshly skinned it is soft pliable rollable, malleable like material and can be cut and shaped.
The skins were held like a plastic bag for new crushed grapes to be poured into and plugged and then the reaction of the chemicals and heat generated during fermentation caused the skins to form a shape and set hard like wooden caskets.
These could then be stored until the wine was used. Once emptied the brittle skins were not easy to reuse except for old wine as they could easily split with the fermentation process and chemical reactions. New skins are best for new wine.
Make way for the young.
Old skins can be made malleable by oiling, massaging bending and a lot of manipulation. We need to be keeping up and fit for purpose for the new wine we are expecting.
Be still and prepare for the new.
The illustration above had a different significance in its inspiration but used to symbolise today’s thoughts it is representative of God’s need to Still us and empty us of set ways where there is no flexibility and room for change and prepare for the New wine.
To allow for a new skin to hold the New Wine comfortably and safely and allow it to ferment and mature for a new generation and time. To be transformed and made complete in His image which is Spirit surrounded and shaped by body.
The I Am.
Two scriptures that come to mind are:
“Neither is new wine put into old wineskins. If it is, the skins burst and the wine is spilled and the skins are destroyed. But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.””Matthew 9:17 ESV
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”Romans 12:2 ESV

My waffle for today!!
Again I looked at the picture and saw a miss mash, I couldn’t think 🤔 of anything it resembled, no inspiration, nowought!! (must be a Bushbury word, where I was born just outside if Wolverhampton)
So onto reading the blog.
The old
The new
So when I looked at the picture again this is what I saw.
A woman standing on a rock.
We are known as the bride, and we stand on that biblical rock, a life of obedience and truth based on Jesus’s teaching. Being obedient we radiate His light which is a witness to others in our deeds and works as well as our soul’s witness to other born again souls. We are continually fed with new truths from His Word as the Holy Spirit reveals hidden gems, not necessarily from our own understanding but from others, fellowship, being as one mind with brothers and sisters who are believers in His Word. We have a reliance first and foremost on Him, but we need to be part of the Body.
The woman.
It looked like she is going birth, and as I look I see old and new.
The new – La Liberte eclairant le monde LIBERTY ENLIGHTENING THE WORLD, the statute of Liberty carrying a flame, a light to the world, broken chains at her feet. What a colossius sight to behold it if you were leaving behind poverty and oppression in the early 20th century on a journey to a new life of hope and riches, selling all you had to buy a ticket to a better life. Thankfully there is no cost for us. Being set free from the chains of slavery, today that slavery is greed money power………….. We have the illumination of His Word to lead us on a new journey.
The old.
It looked like barren hills, a dry place. I struggled with this but I thought about the old testament and hills in Israel of Moses time. God gave Moses the 10 commandments, the base on which our faith and understanding is built, Jesus said He didn’t come to change the law (teaching) but was a fulfillment of it. We can not separate the two, we need to have an understanding of the old, the mature as I see it but we need to be born anew every morning with the new wine, the love and hope and promises of our dear Saviour Jesus Christ. We are baptised in the water H2O, a symbol of death to life, H hydrogen to oxygen.
Thank you Jan xxx

Hi Dave, An abundance of thought and enlightenment. Fascinating in that the truths God speaks too each observer reflects so much the place they stand and view from! One’s enlightenment an become a new revelation to another the minute it is shared. What is even more fascinating on the illustration of this particular blog is that it was not specifically inspired by the topic of the blog. It was drawn nearly a couple of years ago with yet another thought of inspiration! They are proving to be almost as living as the bibles word! Not wanting to sound heretical! I hope you know what I mean!
Lovely as always to be party to your thoughts, the perception of another’s eyes and heart keep us going in these solitary times!
Thank you again. Xx
