“In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.”
This is a new day and new dawning when God is opening ears to hear but it requires a digging out of that which has blocked our ability to hear first.
Many have been faithfully labouring for a couple of decades with out much reward. A sense of surviving but of being in a fallow time. A sense of being paused. A sense of little real anointing on seeds sown.
Now we are sensing being propelled and released. Beginning to feel pregnant again for a birthing but along a narrow canal opening before us but which has until now been hidden.
Our posture has significance.
Our pride in open armed, hands raised praise and worship reaching up being transformed into a bending over to the floor.
The floor draws us to wards its being the new door. Our need to let go what was not anointed and to take up the new that is.
As if the house or temple we have made has not been where God desires to dwell. Its structure has been too man orientated and world influenced built on foundations of pride and self satisfaction and reliance. God has not met us there.
He has waited for to open our eyes and see the state we are in and to turn in our frustration to dependence, longing and on our face in repentance.
The fullness of God’s grace awaits the fullness of humility we embody. Hence the need in our spirit to go low. To not resist the lowly space.
We have been found to be wanting.
Pride and usurping power from worldly structures and systems raising an empire of Christendom has led to our down fall.
We are not of this world nor should we want to influence it. We are set apart, not of this world and our mission in the gospel is to rescue others from it into the Kingdom of Christ which is totally counter cultural.
God challenges us as He did Israel we read throughout Isaiah 58 to the transformation of their hearts as to our hearts.
“Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.”
God will bless and anoint throughout a season until pride directs us away from faithfulness then that has to be terminated, destroyed and reformed. Exemplified in Uzziah’s downfall.
“But when he was strong, he grew proud, to his destruction. For he was unfaithful to the Lord his God and entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense.”
Pride and wrong direction can shut down a move of God.
We are not of this world. We are in it but not of it. Our expectation of success will be counter cultural .
The bride says I am not of this world. The domain is that of Jesus Christ. His Kingdom reign and power structure. Not a Christendom power and structure where we have married into mammon, domination, ego.
Jesus set the standard. He went to the cross humiliated, suffering, riding a donkey, every evidence symbolic of His humility and attitude of servitude.
He was not going as the hero on the chariot to influence but to rescue to serve.
We must reflect and mirror Him. Allow Jesus to bring about the transfiguration from man’s ways to Christ’s way.
We must be the standard of Matthew 7. That the city on the hill will emblazon the way. The sovereignty and unpatriotic light be the threat to expose the world for what has falsely ruled it.
The early church rebelled unashamedly against what they saw to be not of the kingdom of God.
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Our heart, individually and as a body, aligned with theirs will be the rescue mission requisite in this new season.
The illustration shows us in a posture of worship upon the floor. Pregnant with seeds of a new anointing. Light emanating in reflection of Christ to rescue a harvest. The world and darkness revealed, exposed and pushed back.
Four Scriptures that come to mind:
“In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.”Psalm 40:6 ESV
“Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.”Isaiah 58:8 ESV
“But when he was strong, he grew proud, to his destruction. For he was unfaithful to the Lord his God and entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense.”2 Chronicles 26:16 ESV
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”Matthew 5:13-14, 16 ESV
