“You are the offspring of your father, the devil, and you serve your father very well, passionately carrying out his desires. He’s been a murderer right from the start! He never stood with the truth, for he’s full of nothing but lies—lying is his native tongue. He is a master of deception and the father of lies!”
The bible and the kingdom are rooted in Truth. Truth values, Truth lovers, Truth telling.
“I am the Gateway. To enter through me is to experience life, freedom, and satisfaction.”
Unlike the world where the agenda annihilates truth. There is no truth in the devil, the father of lies.
“A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect —life in its fullness until you overflow!”
Everyone on the side of Truth listens to Jesus.
“But I am the true Prince who speaks nothing but the truth, yet you refuse to believe and you want nothing to do with me.”
Our fight is to believe truth over lies. To regain order where it has become disordered.
Lying in society socially, politically and at all levels has become a norm and our repeated exposure to it has created a false tolerance where it is shrugged off.
Accountability, responsibility and accepting consequences has reached a spiralling descent and has become increasingly alarming to many of us.
“Help, Lord! Save us! For godly ones are disappearing. Where are the dependable, principled ones? They’re a vanishing breed! Everyone lies, everyone flatters, and everyone deceives. Nothing but empty talk, smooth talk, and double-talk.”
God’s response is to rise up to defend the poor because the lies within culture culminate in harm particularly for the poor and needy. It offends His heart of truth and justice.
“Truth is lacking, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. The Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.”
God is not mocked. Historically within the bible we see how people and nations collapse when they submit to lies depravity and self interest.
We reap what we sow.
Those who are careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with great matters. Lies travel fast, someone said:
“a lie can travel half way round the world while truth is putting his shoes on.”
Truth is truth irrespective of what we personally believe. Therefore we have to be wary that what we believe is truth.
We are called to be those to arise and shine in the darkness.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
Our integrity counts where new generations have such mine fields to negotiate regarding what lies and depravity they have exposure to.
Our hope lies in becoming those living only in the Truth and in God’s favour in the kingdom here on earth as well as in heaven.
“Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear.”
The illustration shows being powered by the Truth in Jesus emanating light that pushes back the darkness.
